You are fertile 10-14 days before your period.
It’s in your interest to be horny from your
body’s perspective since one of our functions
of evolution is to procreate.
It stands to reason that you would be most
interested when your body is set up to get pregnant.
The high progesterone at that part of your cycle
also makes the genitals a little swollen and sensitive.
For some women that’s a turn on, for others,
not so much. Same thing happens in pregnancy,
the other time you have high progesterone.
Another theory is that there is a lot of discharge
pre-period because it is starting the process of
shedding the uterine lining, and when things get wet
in there it makes you feel sensitive and aroused.
Second, you retain water in your pelvic region
before a period and that bloated watery feeling
can put a good amount of pressure on your g-spot,
which makes it very sensitive.
Mild amounts of stimulation for an extended
period of time can build up to some really great feelings.
Third, there is the hormone shift. We can’t be
sure what causes someone to get horny due to
hormones, which explains why there is no fully
effective female libido enhancing medicine.
Never feel ashamed about your sexuality.
As a young woman you have just as much
right as a man to explore it.
Don’t let our sexually repressive culture inhibit you.
The notion that girls aren’t supposed to be
as horny as men is a myth. Your sexuality
is part of what makes you human.
Most animals only are only sexual when in
“season” [on heat]. It’s the reproductive drive.
We’ve been given sexuality as a pleasurable
way to bond with mates, as well as providing children.

Teenage Sex Drive
During adolescence, we respond strongly to the
neurotransmitter dopamine and the hormone oxytocin.
They influence the brain’s reward systems and empathy, respectively.
This helps explain why teens are ‘sensation-seeking,’
whether that comes in the form of daredevil stunts,
social climbing or sexual experimentation.
It’s hard to manage an audience’s expectations
when you open a film with a 15-year-old girl
getting caught masturbating by her mother.
In the case of Turn Me On, Dammit!,
a charming Norwegian import, the scene
doesn’t shock as much as it sets an unrestrained
tone to a disarmingly earnest film about teenage sexuality.
Best of all is the film’s unapologetic approach to sex:
“Because I’m horny!” Alma yells back at her mother after
being confronted with expensive charges from a phone-sex line.
There are few subjects as incendiary in cinema as
a teenage girl’s sexual awakening. There are few
films that can tackle the subject without
over-relying on nervous laughs or gratuitous sex.
