Women Have Wet Dreams Too

Sleeping on your stomach triggers more clitoral
stimulation and is associated with vivid dreams.

It offers more contact between bed and your clitoris

The chances of getting wet dreams will be higher
if you haven’t had an orgasm for some time.

Women have their very own version of morning wood.
It doesn’t just happen occasionally but quite a lot.

You’ve probably had several sex dreams in your
lifetime, or simply woken up feeling aroused.

Women are more likely to have an orgasm
at the same time during the dream phase

The scientific term is ‘nocturnal clitoral tumescence’
(in men, it is called ‘nocturnal penile tumescence’)

Typically, men only get an erection during REM sleep.
But women have a physiological response.
The clitoral erection is often paired with an orgasm.

The level of blood supply to the vagina when women
are sleeping goes up significantly – as high as
it does during sexual intercourse.

As pulses of blood flow into the vagina,
the clitoris engorges, vaginal sensitivity
increases and you become moist and warm.

In other words, you’re having an orgasm.

Most women don’t realise they’re experiencing
a clitoral erection during and after sleep
because it is so much smaller than the penile one.

But if you’ve ever wondered why you sometimes
wake up feeling aroused and wet, this explains it.

Does Sex Count As Exercise?

Sex increases heart rate, breathing and blood
pressure in the same way as exercise.

Sexual activity produces a moderate level of physical
stress – up to 75 percent of gym exercise.

A bout of sexual activity is the same a moderate
physical activity (such as brisk walking)
when energy expenditure is measured.

Men burn about four calories a minute during sex,
which is about half of what they burn jogging.

For most of us, sex isn’t sustained long enough
nor occurs frequently enough for any physiological
change to happen in the long term.

Sex isn’t a replacement for regular exercise.
They are mutually beneficial.

Regular exercise can boost your sex drive
and help improve your overall health.

and finally…

At certain times during my cycle I can’t sleep without
having an orgasm. If I do nod off I then wake up in the
middle of the night feeling really, almost unbearably
aroused. I don’t want to masturbate with my husband
next to me, but I don’t always feel like having sex.
