Yoga Postures & Sex

The Decadent Prophet

This one’s called the Cow Pose. Or more suggestively,
Down Dog. It’s pretty straight-forward. In a table top
position on all fours, it is essentially doggy style
with a slight tilt upwards. It’s great for flexibility,
and also straightens your pelvic floor muscles. As we
know, it’s a great sex position [fuck me from behind].

Sex Antics

Trying new positions can jazz up your sex life and keep the passion in your relationship.

It’s a great idea to mix things up once in a while. Just be sure that doing so isn’t going to injure you or your partner. You can go too far with gymnastic sex.

There are some crazy things you can do in the bedroom. Some of those things can get you both hurt pretty badly. So when you’re looking to add some variety, don’t give these dangerous sex positions a try.

Of course 69 is a classic position for mutual oral sex when you’re lying down. But gravity is not your friend when it comes to standing 69. one partner must do a handstand to reach the other person’s genitals upside down.

When reaching orgasm it gets even scarier. The standing partner could push down on the partner doing the handstand, or the handstander could lose his or her hold on the floor and come crashing down.

Handstands are best left in yoga class, so skip this one and allow the bed to do its job.

A couple of positions in the Kama Sutra allude to the man standing up while holding the woman during sex. Super bad idea, unless your partner is a bodybuilder or wrestler, and you weigh around 100 pounds.

The man supports your weight by putting your buttocks in his hands, and you hang on with your legs curled around him.

No matter how much he claims to bench, in the heat of the moment, things can get, uh, slick, and you could lose traction. The scenario could end with the woman’s tailbone broken or the man’s penis broken (yes, that happens!).

Finally, the “pair of tongs” position is infamous for being precarious – not to mention requiring loads of strength on the part of both partners.

The woman supports herself with one hand on the ground, while the rest of her body is supported by the man, who stands in between her legs, holding the front one for support. There are a lot of scenarios of how this can go wrong. It’s best just to skip it.

There are plenty of ways to get off without a trip to the hospital.

Orgasms at the Gym

Women may not need a guy, a vibrator, or any other direct sexual stimulation to have an orgasm, finds a new study on exercise-induced orgasms and sexual pleasure.

Alfred Kinsey and his colleagues first reported the phenomenon in 1953, saying that about 5 percent of women they had interviewed mentioned orgasm linked to physical exercise.

However, they couldn’t know the actual prevalence because most of these women volunteered the information without being directly asked.

Since then, reports of so-called “coregasms,” named because of their seeming link to exercises for core abdominal muscles, have circulated in the media for years, according to researchers.

Despite attention in the popular media, little is known scientifically about exercise-induced orgasms.
About 40 percent of both groups of women have experienced exercise-induced pleasure or orgasm on more than 11 occasions in their lives. Most of the women in the group said they felt some level of embarrassment when exercising in public places.

They mostly said during the experiences they weren’t having a sexual fantasy or thinking about someone they were attracted to.

Of the women who had orgasms during exercise, about 45 percent said their first experience was linked to abdominal exercises; 19 percent linked to biking/spinning; 9.3 percent linked to climbing poles or ropes; 7 percent reported a connection with weight lifting.

7 percent running; the rest of the experiences included various exercises, such as yoga, swimming, elliptical machines, aerobics and others. Exercise-induced sexual pleasure was linked with more types of exercises than the orgasm phenomenon.

Answers to open-ended questions in the survey revealed some interesting details. For instance, the abdominal exercises tied to orgasms seemed to be particularly associated with the exercise in which a person supports their weight on their forearms on a so-called captain’s chair with padded arm rests and then lifts their knees toward their chest.

The open-ended questions also revealed the orgasms tended to occur after multiple sets of crunches or some other abdominal exercise rather than after just a couple repetitions; they also seemed to happen after the woman had really exerted herself.

Many of these women talked about it happening even as children. At least one woman in the study who was a virgin said she really loved that she could have these experiences at the gym.

The researchers aren’t sure why certain exercises lead to orgasm or sexual pleasure. It may be that exercise, which is already known to have significant benefits to health and well-being, has the potential to enhance women’s sexual lives as well.
